Sloane and Sterling Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller responsible for personal data collected through this website and our services.
From families enquiring about our services: your name, contact details, family circumstances relevant to your enquiry (number and ages of children, any particular requirements), travel plans where relevant to a chaperone or interim placement, and household address once a placement is confirmed.
From nannies and governesses applying to our roster: your name, contact details, date of birth, right-to-work documentation, references, qualifications, paediatric first aid certification, enhanced DBS certificate details, employment history, and any other information required to meet our regulatory obligations under the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
From website visitors: we do not use analytics, cookies or tracking technologies on this website. When you visit, your IP address is logged by our hosting provider (Netlify) and by Google Fonts, which we use to render the website's typography. Neither uses this data to identify you.

Enquiry records from families that did not result in a placement: one year from the date of the enquiry, then deleted.
Records relating to introductions and placements: a minimum of one year from the last service provision, in accordance with the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. Where safeguarding considerations require longer retention, records may be retained for up to six years.
Nanny vetting records: retained for the duration of a nanny's time on our roster and for one year afterwards, except where safeguarding obligations require longer retention.
For travel and chaperone placements involving international assignments, limited personal data may be transferred outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses where required.
